German-Azerbaijani Business Forum
The German-Azerbaijani Business Forum on 11 October focused on financing, industry, transport and logistics. The forum was organised with the support of the German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations and Eastern Europe Business Association of Germany.
Opening speaches were held by Mr. Aydin Aliyev, Chairman of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Sahil Babayev and Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany Mrs. Theresa Schönfeld.
The Forum was attended by over 200 representatives from relevant government institutions, local and international businesses, and ended with networking talks between German and Azerbaijani companies.
Bavaria-Azerbaijan Business Forum
On May 31, the AHK Azerbaijan organized the Bavaria-Azerbaijan Business Forum on the occasion of the delegation visit of Bavarian companies in Azerbaijan, under the direction of Mr. Franz Josef Pschierer, State Secretary in the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology.
The Forum brought together over 80 business representatives from Azerbaijan and Bavaria in the field of mechanical and plant engineering, construction, information and communication technologies, environmental technology, medical services, consumer goods and tourism.
Public Private Dialogue (PPD) Workshops
Within the EU-funded East Invest 2 project “Public Private Dialogue (PPD) Activities“, AHK Azerbaijan organized three events with seminars and workshops for Business Support Organizations (BSOs) and business associations. The Series aimed at encouraging them to participate in the Public Private Dialogue and presented new tools for successful advocacy.
The following Topics and Skills were trained:

March 2017: Positioning (Agreement on a position, Drafting a position paper)
December 2016: Analytics (Stakeholder Analysis, Analysis of the issue, Preparing a Dossier)
EU-Azerbaijan Business Forum
More than 500 high-ranking representatives of the European and Azerbaijani economy and government met on 8 June to join the EU-Azerbaijani Business Forum and discuss the current economic situation as well as to establish business relationships.
The Forum was organized on behalf of the European Commission by the AHK Azerbaijan, in cooperation with the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan. The panel discussions focused on Agriculture and Food, Environmental Technology, Transport and Logistics, and ICT and E-commerce.
