Start.up! Germany Tour 2021
Get access to corporates from the vibrant Rhine-Ruhr-Region
„Feel the pulse of the most exciting German startup ecosystem”
From 14-17 November 2021, a selected group of brave, enthusiastic and like-minded entrepreneurs from all over the world will have the opportunity to explore digitally and visually some of Germany’s most promising hotspots for both start-ups and the “old economy”: North Rhine-Westphalia.
Within Start.up! Germany Tour 2021 you will get to know large corporations, multinational companies and representatives of the "German Mittelstand". Furthermore, you will get an insight into the location NRW and its vibrating Rhine-Ruhr region.
We organise for you: international pitch events, reverse pitches, virtual matchmakings, 1to1 meetings and much more.
In addition, there will be a pre-programme with
- exciting webinars to learn more about the vibrant Rhine-Ruhr-Region and how you can successfully get in touch with companies and potential partners and
- great events to get in contact with corporates, institutions and the startup ecosystem.
The tour is hosted by the Chambers of Industry and Commerce in the Ruhr region, Dusseldorf and Cologne, and the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK).
Partners of the tour are NRW.Global Business, Germany Trade and Invest and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitalization and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
Criteria Startup Selection
- Up to 5 startups per country are allowed to participate in the Main Program of Start.up! Germany Tour 2021.
- The startup should provide an innovative business model in one of these sectors:
- InsurTech - Logistics & Mobility - Smart City
- The startup should be younger than ten years.
- The startup must have passed the seed stage and be successful on the market. Successful accomplishments of first investor rounds are a plus.
- The startup has already developed a scalable business model with an international approach, preferably with a German/European focus.
- The startup should have developed sophisticated approaches of how their business model can be applied to the German market and its customers. The startup should have a clear understanding of success factors on the German market.
If there is still a need to catch up here, the startups should attend the preparatory webinars.
- The startup should be made aware that German investors tend to invest only if the startup established an office in Germany.
- The startup should be able to present in public in pitches in a professional manner and in fluent business English.
