From 9th to 12th March 2022, the German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce (AHK Azerbaijan) and the Plovdiv Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) organised a study visit to Plovdiv, Bulgaria, for Azerbaijani wine producers, within the framework of the project “From Grape to Trade: Building synergies between Bulgarian and Azerbaijani wine exporters”.
During a 4-day business trip, 9 Azerbaijani wine companies actively participated in the VINARIA 2022 - the largest exhibition of the wine industry in the Balkans with more than 117 exhibitors and 42.000 visitors each year. The exhibition visitors from all over the world got acquainted with the wine history of Azerbaijan and the conditions for wine tourism and had a chance to taste selected Azerbaijani wines.
As a highlight of the business trip, two of the Azerbaijani companies, AZNAR CJSC and AZGRANATA LLC won the “Consumer Choice Competition”. They took first place in the categories 'Best Red Wine' (AZNAR CJSC) and 'Best Spirit' (AZGRANATA LLC) as both received the highest rating in their category from the fair visitors.
The delegation trip to Bulgaria provided the participating companies opportunities to showcase their products to European counterparts and institutions, as well to get firsthand specific and practical information about the potential business for the Azerbaijani and European companies to collaborate.
Following wine companies took part in the delegation trip to Bulgaria: Savalan-ASPI Winery LLC, AGRO-AZERINVEST LLC, Shirvan wines LLC, AZGRANATA LLC, Tovuz Retail LLC (Tovuz Baltiya LLC), AZNAR CJSC, CRM Trade LLC, ALCO HALL LLC, Azerbaijan Wine Producers and Exporters Association, Azerbaijan Tourism Board.
The project “From Grape to Trade: Building synergies between Bulgarian and Azerbaijani wine exporters” is funded by the European Union's EU4Business: Connecting Companies (EU4BCC) initiative, which is managed by EUROCHAMBRES.
