Partners in Germany

The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action has the legal, administrative and coordinating mandate, e.g. in the fields of energy, industry, and innovation policies as well as in the sphere of competition, SMEs, and European politics. The BMWK pursues a trade policy that aims to open up markets to states and regions outside Europe. The AHK Azerbaijan is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action on a pro-rata in accordance with a resolution of the German Parliament. More.

The DIHK is an umbrella organisation for the IHKs and AHKs in Germany. The DIHK thus does not represent a certain group of companies, but for the entire commercial economy in Germany and more than three million entrepreneurs. The association represents the common position of the IHKs at the national, European and international levels. More.

The IHKs representing the network of the 79 Chambers of Industry and Commerce are self-responsible public-law bodies. As institutions of the economy for the economy, they act as the most important stakeholders of all commercial enterprises in the regions. They perform public-law tasks and offer their member companies service-oriented advice and competent mediation in local, regional and national affairs. More.

The network of the AHKs consists of bilateral Chambers of Commerce Abroad, delegations and representative offices of the German economy. At over 130 locations in 90 countries, AHKs advise, manage and represent German companies that want to establish or expand their business abroad. GTAI is the economic development agency of the Federal Republic of Germany. With more than 50 offices in Germany and abroad as well as its network of partners throughout the world, GTAI supports German companies setting up in foreign markets, promotes Germany as a business location and assists foreign companies setting up in Germany. Since 1952 the Committee represents the interests of the German economy in Eastern Europe. With the instruments of economic diplomacy, it works with the Federal Government to organise meetings between Eastern European government members and German companies, as well as expert seminars, delegation trips and other events with the aim of strengthening economic relations with the countries concerned. As the Foundation of German Industry for International Cooperation, the SES works all around the world. It is Germany’s leading volunteering organisation for experts and executives who are either retired or taking some time off work. The SES has been helping people to help themselves since 1983 – all around the world, in every industry and sector. Most of its voluntary assignments are completed in developing and emerging countries or in Germany. More.

With a stable of more than 50 trade fairs for capital goods, consumer goods and new technologies, Messe München is one of the world’s leading trade fair organisers. Every year over 50,000 exhibitors and around three million visitors take part in more than 200 events on the exhibition site in Munich or abroad. The Federal Foreign Office along with its nearly 230 diplomatic missions abroad offers a broad range of services worldwide to support German companies engaged in foreign markets. They act as political mentors and facilitators, networkers and advisors. Furthermore the missions abroad promote Germany as a business location. The GIZ is a state development co-operation organisation of the Federal Republic of Germany. It is active in a wide variety of spheres, from economic development and employment, energy and environmental issues to peace and security. The main commissioning party is the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). More.

The EU-Delegation to Azerbaijan was opened in the centre of Baku in February 2008. Today, it is one of over 140 Delegations around the world. It officially represents the European Union in Azerbaijan and promotes the political and economic relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union by maintaining extensive relations with governmental institutions and by increasing awareness of the EU, its institutions and programmes.
