B2B Meetings took place with the representatives of Rhineland-Palatinate from Germany

On 16 August 2019, the German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce (AHK Azerbaijan) organised B2B Meetings with a number of German companies from Rhineland-Palatinate (Germany) in the Hyatt Regency Meeting and Conference Centre.

The B2B meetings were organised within the framework of the business trip of companies from Rhineland-Palatinate and representatives of the Ministry for Economic Affairs, Transport, Agriculture and Viniculture of Rhineland Palatinate to Azerbaijan.

Dr. Joe Weingarten, Head of Innovation and Technology Department at the Ministry for Economic Affairs, Transport, Agriculture and Viniculture of Rhineland-Palatinate expressed his pleasure at being present in the event and thanked AHK Azerbaijan for a warm welcome. It was mentioned that Rhineland-Palatinate was one of the 16 states of Germany, being a green state, but also largely-industrialised. Despite the presence of large-scale businesses in the state Dr Weingarten stated that real strength of the economy was 40,000 medium and small sized enterprises which were technologically advanced, mainly export-oriented. Concluding his speech he wished participants successful business meetings.

The meeting was proceeded by the presentation of Mr. Rufat Bayramov, Head of Office Coordinating Council on Transit Freight at Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO), who discussed “Transport Corridors of Azerbaijan” and drew the attention of participants to the recent developments in transport infrastructure of Azerbaijan.

Afterwards, Mr. Bahruz Asgarov, Deputy CEO at Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB), discussed the development of the tourism sector of Azerbaijan and emphasized 9 pillars that constitute the National Tourism Strategy 2023.

Following the official opening, the B2B meetings were held between German and Azerbaijani companies in the fields of medical technology, agricultural machinery trade, security, production of police and defence equipment, mechanical engineering, infrastructure development and consulting.

The event was concluded with a networking dinner.
